Winner of eight Tony® Awards including the 2003 Tony® for Best Musical, Hairspray brings its infectious beat and hilarious fun to the Muny for 8 performances. Set in the changing times of 1960s Baltimore, Tracy Turnblad dreams of dancing on the Corny Collins Show AND creating a perfect integrated world! Does she have the moves and the courage? Based on the 1988 John Waters Film of the same name, Hairspray features incredible dance numbers and a blazing set of pop tunes including “Good Morning Baltimore” and “You Can’t Stop The Beat!”

July 6 – 12

Happy holidays – all of them! Irving Berlin’s Holiday Inn comes to joyous and extravagant life on the Muny stage. A Muny premiere, this will be only the second production in the world of this new musical based upon the beloved 1942 film. With thrilling dance numbers and lively comedy, this wonderful new show features Irving Berlin classics like “Easter Parade,” “Steppin’ Out With My Baby,” “Shakin’ The Blues Away,” “Be Careful, It’s My Heart,” and more!

July 13 – 19

The story of beloved American rock ‘n’ roll icon Buddy Holly explodes onto The Muny stage in Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story. Buddy Holly created the sounds and styles that made American rock ‘n’ roll, and this fantastic show features songs you’ve loved for decades: “That’ll Be The Day,” “Why Do Fools Fall in Love,” “Peggy Sue,” and “Johnny B. Goode!” Another Muny premiere, Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story is an all-American summer night’s energy boost!

July 21 – 27

Could there be a better stage than The Muny for Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s landmark Broadway musical Into The Woods? After two Broadway productions and countless worldwide editions (including an upcoming feature film), this hilarious, surprising and timely musical makes its Muny premiere! Into The Woods takes classic fairy tale characters (Cinderella, Rapunzel, Little Red Riding Hood and more!) and sends them into the woods – at the same time! With a delicious score featuring the poignant “No One is Alone,” “Agony,” and “Last Midnight,” this magical evening will put a lump in your throat and a smile on your face.

July 29 – August 7

‘Be Our Guest’ for the magical family extravaganza, Disney’s Beauty and The Beast, returning to The Muny for 10 amazing performances. This enchanting, musical tells the classic love story set to the Academy Award® winning music of Alan Menken and Tim Rice. Based on the 1991 hit animated film, Disney’s Beauty and The Beast has become one of the most popular musicals in the world. For 97 years, The Muny ‘family show’ has been one of the greatest St. Louis traditions, and our production of this Disney classic show will thrill you and your family!

August 10 – 16

rRodgers and Hammerstein’s masterpiece Oklahoma!, the musical that changed Broadway and America, returns to The Muny stage in a grand and glorious production. In its first Muny production since 2007, this beautiful and dramatic show features an unforgettable story and a score filled with landmark songs such as “Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin’,” “The Surrey With the Fringe on Top,” “People Will Say We’re in Love,” and of course, “Oklahoma!”
