2017 ICB Convention Alton, Illinois Flyer Click Here

On behalf of President Schroeder, the Board of Directors, and the Convention Committee, I want to encourage all of you to attend the 2017 ICB Conference and Convention, September 28th to October 1stin Alton, Illinois. Your Conference and Convention Committee, which I’ve had the pleasure to chair, has worked hard to put together a convention that features a lot of opportunities to learn, socialize with old friends and make new ones, and also conduct the important business of ICB. From learning about self-defense, the latest technology available to us, hearing from a State Legislator, to singing your hearts out during Friday night karaoke, and we will have exhibits (some will be fresh and new to us). We have tried to plan something for everyone. We will also be raffling off a couple of really exciting things, one of them I can mention at this time is an accessible big screen TV. We will have a 50/50 raffle and we are trying to put together a small but fun auction at our Friday night social.

Thanks to the great work we did on the ICB Constitution and Bylaws when we last met in 2015, we have changed up the convention format a little. We want your feedback on these changes, positive or otherwise. You spend your hard earned money to attend this convention, we want to make it worthwhile to you.

Attached to this email, you will find the convention registration form, nomination form and several constitution and bylaws amendments. You may register online at www.icbonline.org/2017-convention-registration, call the ICB office if you need help or fill out the forms attached and email them back to the ICB office. Room rates at the Best Western Premier, our convention hotel, are $94 plus tax per night. The number to make reservations is 618-462-1220, mention you’re attending the ICB Convention to get our rate. This rate includes a full breakfast buffet each morning. This year, we’re proud to offer a slight discount if you take all the meal options being offered on the registration form. It is called the meal package and you will see it on the registration form. Please do this as it helps ICB meet our minimums and reduce costs.

A very important part of any Conference and Convention is remembering those whom we’ve lost in the past couple of years. If you know someone who has passed away that either was involved in ICB, or was involved with the Illinois School for the Visually Impaired, get the information about them to the ICB office. Don’t forget, we also memorialize guide dogs. Also, if you have any ideas of resolutions we need to adopt, please also get them to the office.

We look forward to seeing you at the 2017 ICB conference and convention in Alton. If you have any questions, contact the Maggie, ICB Office Manager at the ICB office at 217-523-4967 or icb@icbonline.org.

Sincerely,

Ray Campbell, Convention Chairman
